Turns out that, the 'switching procedure' is handled through an application accessible via [Apple] > [System Preferences]. Depending on which version of OS X you're running, it could wind up in an [Other] directory, or it could wind up at the bottom of your [System Preferences] directory, which is the case for Sierra 10.12.6.
